Date: March 21-28
What is Geocaching? From Wikipedia: Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", anywhere in the world. Or as my sister says, “Using multi-million dollar satellites to find Tupperware in the woods.”
What we are doing: We are asking you to join the high-tech scavenger hunt to find your store.
We will create a list of your GPS coordinates and a hint to help them find your store on our website.
We will run advertisements on the radio giving them our website. Participants will come in and have you mark their paper that they were there. They will turn in their filled out paper to the Chamber for a chance to win a Grand Prize package. The scavenger hunt will last from March 21 - 28. This will drive new customers into your stores.
The cost for you will be $20 for members and $30 for nonmembers (used for advertising the event)and (a $20 gift certificate from your store) for the Grand Prize. If you would like to participate, please let the Carey Chamber or Cassie Carlson ( firstname.lastname@example.org ) know by 2/27/15.
