Hungryman Race 2015

Saturday June 6, 2015 - 9 AM – Carey, Ohio

All proceeds to benefit the Carey Food Pantry

What is the Hungryman Race?

The Hungryman is a relay race that combines athletics and eating! Teams of four people will run, bike and

swim into the gastronomical and athletic Hall of Fame in a competitive event to crown one team as “Hungryman

Champions”!!!! The first place team will have their names engraved each year on a trophy that will be displayed

in downtown Carey forever (Or until death do us part). Other participants may win age group awards!

Tell me more!

Participants will sample some of the finest specialties Carey restaurants have to offer. Each relay leg will be

responsible to complete their athletic feat AND eat a sampling offered from one of Carey's finest restaurants and

then make the hand off to their next teammate.

Why would I want to do this? Ten great reasons!

#1. It's fun! #2. Really great food included in your entry fee! #3. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Carey

Food Pantry. #4. They do a race like this in Durham, N.C. every year that has been featured on “Man Vs. Food”

(Why would you travel that far when you can do it here?) #5. To make history! #6. Don't you run enough races

that you obsess over your speed, time and competitiveness? Why not have some fun AND raise money for a

great cause? #7. There aren't many races out there to gather your friends and be on one “TEAM”. (Make your

town proud!) #8 Eat great food then run, bike and or swim (How many races provide consuming calories AND

burning calories in one event?) #9 It's cheaper than an “Ironman” and finally #10. Did I mention “It's fun!”

OK, let's have the details.

Entry fee $100 per team (pre-registered before 5/25/15) and 4 non-perishable food items per team. From 5/25/15

thru raceday entry fee increases to $120. Each pre-registered participant will get a limited edition T-shirt free!

Leg #1- Run 2.2 miles with a food stop during your leg. (Splinters)

Leg #2- Run 2.35 miles with a food stop during your leg. (Moreno's)

Leg #3- Run 1.0 mile with a food stop then swim 4 lengths of Carey Pool during your leg. (Spankys)

Leg #4- Start at the Carey Pool, Bike 4.5 miles with a food stop during your leg. (Smokin' Buckeye BBQ)

Dessert Leg- Each team member will eat an IGA donut and then complete a .25 mile loop to the finish line.

The fine print. All food must be consumed (you must show proof of empty mouth and empty plate before continuing), teams are

disqualified for “intentional cookie tossing”, some traffic will be present and you must obey ALL stop signs/traffic lights. Bike riders

must wear a helmet. Leg #2 and #3 can be vegetarian, select yes or no on the signature line. Any persons not having fun are not

allowed to participate! Race starts and finishes in downtown Carey. Team packet pickup The Carey Link 112 E. Findlay Street Carey,
